BALLIN OUT FOR COACH G tourney was a huge success

BALLIN OUT FOR COACH G tourney was a huge success

The “BALLIN OUT FOR COACH G” club basketball tournament was held on June 10th-11th,2017 at the Marc T Atkinson School in Phoenix Arizona. The event was held to honor and remember the late Gary Thompkins who passed away last September. Gary, known as Coach G throughout the state, was a very popular figure at many of the gyms in Arizona. He was a close friend of mine and he worked many of the Southwest Showcase events. Coach G always had a smile and his positivity rubbed off on everyone.

This event will be held annually and was put on by Legacy Youth Sports. Although this was the inaugural event, it was extremely successful. Many of the top club programs were in attendance for this well ran event. There was a unique buzz through the gym. A special thank you goes out to Donelle, Kelly and the rest of the Legacy Youth Sports staff for the invitation to attend this event.
